CHAIR LEG COVER
With smaller needle and A, cast on 40 sts.
Work in St St (knit one RS row, purl one WS row) for 1/2" , ending with a knit (RS) row.
Turning Ridge (WS): Knit.
CuffSwitch to larger needle and continue working in St St until piece measures 2 past turning ridge, ending with a WS purl row.
Rows 1-2: With B, work in St st.
Rows 3-4: With C, work in St st.
Rows 5-6: With A, work in St st.
Rep Rows 1-6, 8 more times.
Rows 7-8: With B, work in St st.
Row 9 (RS): With C, purl.
Border Ridge (WS): Knit.
Rows 1-5: With A, work in St st.
Row 6 (Set-up Row) (WS): P20, pm, purl to end.
Row 7: K1, ssk, knit to one st before marker, m1, k1, sm, k1, m1, knit to last 3 sts, k2tog, k1 40 sts.
Row 8: Purl.
Rep last two rows, 7 more times.
Next Row: Bind off 3 sts, knit to one st before marker, m1, k1, sm, k1, m1, knit to end 1 st decreased.
Next Row: Bind off 3 sts, purl to end 3 sts decreased.
Rep the last two rows, 8 more times 4 sts rem.
Bind off remaining sts.
With C, cast on 3 sts.
Row 1: K3.
Row 2: Knit to last st, kfb 1 st increased.
Row 3: Kfb, knit to end 1 st increased.
Rows 4-6: Rep Rows 2-3 and then Row 2 once more 8 sts.
Row 7: Bind off 5 sts, knit to end 3 sts.
Row 8: K3.
Rep Rows 1-8 until piece measures 9 from cast on, ending with Row 7.
Bind off all sts.
Sew Shoe Border to Border Ridge. With crochet hook and A, make chain 20 long. Fasten off. Fold Hem to wrong side of work at turning ridge, enclosing chain. Sew hem to inside of cuff, leaving hem open at sides and leaving ends of chain free. Fold chair leg cover in half lengthwise and sew seam, being careful to match stripes. Weave in ends. Use chain drawstring to fit covers to your chair.
