Cut 6 strands of cable cord to 36-inches in length.
Attach 2 strands at a time to the key ring using a lark’s head knot.
Repeat for the remaining pieces of cord. You will be left with 12 strands.
Pattern: You will work with 4 strands per square knot
First row: 2 sections of knots with 2 square knots each.
Second row: 3 sections of knots with 2 square knots each.
Third row: 2 sections of knots with 2 square knots each.
Fourth row: 3 sections of knots with 2 square knots each.
Fifth row: 2 sections of knots with 2 square knots each.
Sixth row: 1 section of knot with 2 square knots.
To create the rows with the 2 square knots you will want to divide the innermost 4 strands in half and the outermost 4 strands in half. This will leave you with two middle sections of 4 strands each. Create the square knots on each of those sections.
To create the rows with 3 square knots you will want to use sections of 4 strands each. 2 Outer sections and a middle section.
To create the row with 1 square knot you take the innermost 4 strands.
When pattern is complete, make sure knots are tied securely.
