About this Project
Top off your little one's picture perfect look on their first day of school with these DIY pins. Imagine how much fun it'll be to look back on each of your child's first days. From kindergarten to senior year, relive each and every one without trying to remember what grade that one was or how old they were then?! Use whatever decorative paper, solid color cardstock and ribbon you prefer.
You can see how we're "crafting it up" for school -- now it's your turn! Post pics with the hasthtag: #ACMooreInspired
1Cut four 2-½" x 12" pieces of decorative cardstock. Use the scallop-edge scissors along one of the long ends. Follow the instructions on the scoring board to score and fold 1" increments on each piece or just accordion fold with 1" spacing. Use the paper glue to connect each piece to form a circle or a medallion.
2Cut two 3" diameter circles from the Lemon Yellow cardstock using the scallop-edge scissors. Carefully hot glue one Lemon Yellow circle to the top center of the medallion, and then hot glue the other Lemon Yellow circle to the back center.
3Cut two 8" pieces of the Saffron ribbon. Cut a V shape on one short end of each piece. Cut two 5" pieces of the Pumpkin ribbon. Cut a V shape on one short edge of each piece. Using the paper glue, glue the Pumpkin and Saffron ribbons behind the medallion as shown in the photo.
4Punch one circle from the Snowcap cardstock. In the center, write the grade you want with the Black marker. Glue the cardstock to the front of the pin with the paper glue, and then attach the pin to the center of the medallion.
