4 Small Wood Crates, Mod Podge, Patterned Paper, Americana Color Stain: Chambray, Foam Brush, Sandpaper, Wood Glue, Washcloth, Scissors, Ruler, Clamps

Upgrade your desk or dorm decor with a multi-section wood crate. Use patterned paper to add texture and color to your creation.

    Stain crates with color stain. Brush stain on, then use washcloth to rub stain into wood. Let dry.

    Measure the inside of each crate, then trace and cut out paper accordingly. Vary the paper by pattern, and cut to fit. Layer Mod Podge onto the wood with a foam brush, then apply the paper on top. Once in place, brush another layer of Mod Podge on top of paper. Let dry.

    Sand randomly with medium-grit sandpaper to create a rustic, weathered look. Wipe down with a washcloth to get rid of any residue.

    Glue all four crates together in a pinwheel arrangement. Clamp each crate after gluing, and let dry overnight. Accessorize with frames, plants, jars, and other eclectic materials.
