About this Project

Be ready for football with a tailgating cooler upcycled with DecoArt’s newest paint, Americana Multi-Surface Satins.

    Clean inside and outside of the cooler with warm soapy water. Make sure it is completely dry before you begin painting.

    Paint the top of cooler Turf Green. Allow paint to completely dry before proceeding.

    Trace and transfer the football template on the front of the cooler.
  • 4
    Use a 3/4 inch flat brush to paint the football Paprika. When completely dry, paint the football's stripes Cotton Ball. Allow paint to dry completely before proceeding to the next step.

    Use a ruler and chalk pencil to mark off yard lines on the top of cooler.

    Use a #2 round brush and Cotton Ball paint to paint lines and numbers on the top of the cooler. Use these same tools to paint stitches on the football. Allow paint to dry completely before proceeding to the next step.

    Trace and transfer all lettering from the template.
  • 8
    Use a #2 round brush and School Bus paint to paint the words “Kick Off” and “Go Team” as shown or as desired. Paint the words “Tailgate” and “Time” using Coastal Waters.
