I am working on a Native American blanket. It's a lot of work, but it will be nice when it is done. It is one of those that you have to follow a graph and carry unused yarn across as you crochet. It is the third one of this type that I have done. I have tried different methods, such as using bobbins, but found that I didn't like it as much, and the blanket didn't seem as tight as I like it to be. I also start each row new, and work right to left for every row. By turning my work the way you usually would, I feel like it wouldn't be as nice. Has anyone done any of this type of work, and how do you do yours? thanks. Cecilia

I was working on a square-by-square afghan using the new designer sport yarn in fab colors that I discovered at ACM. What was I thinking, I'll never finish it. So I stopped and ignored the guilt pangs I felt walking through the store with new Bernat Worsted yarn to do a "mitred squares" afghan -moving along at a much quicker pace. Currently doing Penguin FaceCloths for a good friend who is getting married tomorrow. She's doing her bathroom in fun cartoony penguin stuff- I thought this would be a cute addition to her penguin-theme she couldn't get in the store.

"His" penguin:

I have yet to figure out how I'll designate the "Hers" ;-)

How about putting a pink bow on the top of the penguin's head?

I am currently working on a round ripple afghan, a prayer shawl, a lapghan and dishcloths. I never seem to work on just one project at a time....hehe.

:) Thanks for the feedback, guys. I kinda wimped out at 3am last night and designated the "hers" with just a silver bow in her "hair" -- it definitely shows the his/hers aspect and is still cute!! They're going into a bag to be presents today! I hope I can write the pattern down before hand.

Working on the crochet sock pattern from C&Clark's website. Using Moda Dea Sassy Stripes in Stormy. After these, I'm going to make another pair using Sugar n Cream's Twisted Cotton yarn in Rosehip for my Mom.

These look great, too! How long does it take you to crochet a pair of socks?

I believe the total time for the finished sock was about 2 hrs. Of course that's including the time getting the 2 yr old her drinkie, getting the dog a treat, trying to watch Anderson Cooper on CNN, etc.

I'm working on a Pastel Baby Throw (link is available here: http://www.e-patternscentral.com/detail.html?prod_id=2334&cat_id=441&criteria=). I was a little confused at first when I started it, but then got the hang of what was going on and have made 12 baby afghans, a apghan and a shawl from this pattern in the past 5 weeks. I am absolutely in love with this pattern and it works up very quickly.

I've added recent stuff to the Flickr site.

http://www.flickr.com/photos/82714470@N00/

As usual, for some reason the clicky doesn't pick up the whole address so you'll need to copy and paste to go look. You'll need to scroll down past the first couple of photos.

The two shawls were projects for the flights to and from the UK - easy to get into a carry on bag. I ran out of yarn for the purple one, in the UK, so it had to wait to be finished until I got back to Maine.

I just couldn't resist doing another patchwork afghan, this time ignoring the instructions for the block pieces. I also did those pieces with a mesh, rather than full pattern and it worked quite well.
