Prayers would be appreciated for people in my area down to the Outer Banks in NC.

We are in the middle of a Nor'easter where they are expecting the worst to hit this afternoon. Power is out for lots of people and flooding is happening all over town. I am watching the water creep closer and closer and my husband just left for work, he has duty so he had to go...

I know the feeling. That storm is heading our way. I live only a block from the Atlantic, but fortunately the part of the sea near me is like a cove. We get the wind, but not the flooding from the sea water. But the town next to us always gets hit hard. They are a peninsular and jut right out into the ocean. Everytime there is a storm, they lose a house along the water front. I just don't understand why folks keep building there. Down on Cape Cod, they now are not fixing the sand dunes that get washed out from under houses. And if you lose your house to the sea, you can not rebuild there. You lose land and home. One town on the lower part of the Cape has had to move the street near the ocean back several hundred feet. The Nor'easters have been washing out the land under the roads that run along the water front. A Nor'easter is a very serious storm. And we take it seriously. Although there are nice people that go down to Rever Beach and sit on the sea wall watching the waves during high tide. But the police are diligent and constantly chase them off with the threat of arrest.

I'll be praying for you my friend. We're getting hit with it too. A lot of rain and wind. The basketball hoop in front of my house blew over.

THANK G-O-D ALMIGHTY for the person He inspired to invent DUCK brand Duct Tape! Because I just used half a roll (neon orange thank you very much) in the rain to tape up our busted sump pump hose! It is holding and keeping my driveway and garage from flooding during this nor'easter in VA!

Woohoo, Fiska-Duct tape..

Gotta love a working Sump-pump. The rain seemed to have slowed here. I'm hoping the weatherman was right and the worst is over and by Sat. it will be warmer.

You are so funny Hobby! Fisk-a-ducktape! I love it!

I woke up this morning to the sound of my neighbor's generator which means they still have no power but more importantly the WIND has let up some! Yesterday a train could have come through my yard and I never would have heard it! I never would have thought I would look forward to 10-15 MPH gusts but after a full 24 hours (seemed like more) of 60-70 this is like a gentle spring breeze! And the rain has let up too, still raining but no longer pelting my window! Thanks for your prayers my forum friends!

Okay Cr8iveLife, I believe think we've made it through shifty the worst of it. We never lost power but came really close to owning water front property. Glad to come in here and see that no one thus far has posted any bad happenings.

It was pouring in Hunt Valley, MD around 11:30 as my friend and I were going out for lunch then it stopped around 12:30. I hope it's not pouring at 5:30 when I leave to go home. I-83 north in the rain is not a fun drive!

Cr8ive - I'm glad the duct tape is working well for you and keeping your house dry! I hope it lets up there for you soon!

We're still getting hit today along the Jersey shore. I had off today because my school had a 2 hour delay and I don't have to work on delayed openings.

A fence panel in my backyard blew off last night. Some of the houses by the beach are in danger.

Thinking of all of you close to the coast. We are about 20 or so miles inland, but it looks like some areas of the Delaware beaches got hit hard. The beach replenishment saved a lot of buildings and probably people, but they are talking about millions of dollars to shore things up again. Stay safe. At least here in Delaware, the wind and rain seem to be gone. It's fairly warm, but still very cloudy and dreary.

We got hit hard with heavy rains early in the a.m. A tractor trailer 18-wheeler jackknifed on the pike and held up traffic for more than two hours. He was speeding in the heavy rain. nice person!! the wind has been crazy here along with the rain. I got smart and stayed in.

We had a huge barge wash up on our local Sandbridge area beach front. Since attempts to move it have been unsuccessful thus far, I may walk the beach front today and snap a few pics.
