Does anyone do any pyrography (woodburning). I have hundreds of wood burnt products I have done in the past 5 years. I am a self taught woodburner.happy

Hi....welcome to the forum! I don't claim pyrography as one of my crafts...but I'm sure we'd all love to see pictures of your projects. Hopefully there will be someone out there reading that will sign in and you can chitty chat about your favorite craft.

Kudos to you, for teaching yourself the craft!

Peace

Hi Minisweets, welcome to the board.

I would love to see your woodburning projects, I've bought pcs at art fairs in the past.

I used to do that years ago. I'm assuming you are talking about that heated stylus tool that you can have different tips and it burns the line into the wood. I used to get regular wall stencils (mostly roses and flowers) and those inexpensive unfinished wood plaques at AC Moore. I would trace the pattern of the stencil on the plaque with a pencil, then use the heated stylus to trace the outline and "burn" it. Sometimes I'd get acrylic paint and color in the flowers here and there. Then I applied varnish and polyurethane. I've got to find those (they are packed away somewhere). Granted mine were really really basic, but it was fun and not difficult to do.

My son just asked me about pyrography..I said "where did you hear a word like that". I didn't even know what it was.

I would love to see what you've done.

pyrography is burning a picture into a piece of wood. You can find pictures on the computer, print them out, use tracing paper to trace picture of the wood. Use the burning tool to burn the picture.
