Hi everyone! I'm new to this site and just want to say hello. It seems like the people on this forum are warm and welcoming. I'm a big fan of crafting. Actually, crafting has been a blessing to me especially this past year. I came down with cancer and had the works - surgery, radiation, chemo. The chemo was SOooo tough. I've been homebound for over a year already because chemo hit my immune system real hard. With a low immune system, I'm at risk for serious infections if I catch something like the swine flul. Crafting at home has really helped me get my mind off things. It's been therapeutic. When I make crafts, it makes me happy and gets my mind off the difficult thoughts like the cancer. So, hi to everyone and happy to meet you all! LittleMissCraft My craft website

Hi Little Miss Craft and welcome to our little slice of Heaven on earth. I'm sure you'll enjoy this board as much as we all do. I'm sorry to hear about your cancer but you sound like a fighter to me. Crafting is the best therapy around. This board will be a great place for you since you're homebound right now. You're in my prayers. What kind of crafts do you like to do? We have it all here. I'm into scrapbooking, paper crafts, favor making, chocolate (making and eating), and I make handmade Christmas ornaments. I have a Christmas fair next Saturday that I'm hoping to sell a lot of my stuff at. Post some pictures of your work. I would love to see what you've done. Just jump right in here and have fun posting and crafting. You've found a great board with amazing people.

Oh yes! Definitely pics. We love pics!!! Cancer is a tough one to get through. My SIL had Non Hodgkin's Lymphoma and he was in stage four when they found it. But he made it and is still with us today. He is in his fifth year of remission. So hang in there. It can be done.
Let us know more about you. What kind of crafts are you doing at the moment?

Hi Janine! Yes I agree crafting is a great therapy. It has really given me something constructive to do during this tough time. I like all sorts of crafts. But most recently, I've been into crafts made from pom poms and tissue flowers. Like this little bluebird pom pom which I made for some other patients in the chemo ward: I also made these poppies for my doctor. She liked them & thought they looked very real If you're interested in seeing my work, I've compiled some of my crafts on my website http://www.littlemisscraft.com/. Unfortunately, my site doesn't have a discussion board. Maybe my hubby will put one up for me sometime... Sincerely, little miss

My cancer was stage III but it's supposed to be a real aggressive one with a high recurrence rate. Well, I'm just hoping for the best and taking things one day at a time. Thanks for your kind encouragement!

Thank you, Elayne! I'll keep on crafting while fighting cancer!! It takes alot of patience to go through cancer treatment, but thankfully crafting is helping me get through it.
I'm thinking about what craft to make for Thanksgiving to give to chemo patients. After spending my birthday in the chemo ward, I felt that it must be very tough for chemo patients especially during holidays. That's when I decided to make crafts for them on holidays and visit them in the hospital!
