I used to bead alot 10 years or so ago. I've been on a non-stop yarn kick for the past 3 years. But - I'm working on a little bracelet tonite. However I can't find my jump ring tool, so both my pointers and thumbs are suffering. If I ever get it done (and my fingers recover enough to press down the camera button), I promise to post a pic.

I admit, I lurk on this board.

My mom bought a kit to learn to bead and when she decided it was too hard for her eyes and hands..It found it's way into my "Craft Cave". I guess I should learn to bead. I have an idea..let me think on it and maybe I'll come out of lurk.

Does anyone else have an inventory of beads ... and it grows, but your finished products don't?

I am new to doing forums. How do we set up a sub-forum where we can show what we have done and maybe how to do it? I would love to share patterns, techniques and sites for goodies. All of which would probably be best under separate forums.

Welcome Denise. happy

Yes, many of us have a huge stash of beads that is forever growing bigger and bigger. Many of us dip into our stash often and create beautiful pieces of wearable art. Others of us start projects only to set them aside for the next hottest idea, but with all intentions of coming back to that orginial piece sooner or later. It's a never ending circle of being involved in a hobby you love. happy

As for sharing you pics, partterns, techniques you can do that right in this part of the forum. Check back on some of my posts. I've shared several of my pics and directions to various projects.

happy I just became a member. I am excited to get beading. It has been several weeks since I made anything. I need inspiration and a new design or something. I hope everyone has a nice evening.

Hi N2BEADZ,
I've been just lurking too.. too many iron's in the fire so to speak..
But today, hopefully my project for the day is to clean out and sort and rearrange my beading/jewelery stuff..

I go to a Scrap, Craft and Chat Group once a month at my local library...
I've been doing paper crafts since last Feb, since I got my Cricut for Christmas last year. but this time I decided to blow off the dust off the jewelery stuff and do some of that..

*Just haven't been in the mood for it, been verrrrry busy, and my mom passed away in Oct. and doing her affairs and such, just hasn't left me much time..*

Anyhow, after I get down posting and letting her dog out to go potty, tha'ts what I am heading down stairs to do..

And on to the question:

YES, my pile always fills up.. I love to find cheap, reduced priced, inexpensive finds, on sale w/a coupon.. and gotta take advantage of those deals when they are there..
So, my pile ~piles up... and yes, sometimes my started projects pile up too..
But for me, and my style of jewelery making..... sometimes, if an inspiration doesn't hit me right away or I don't have something *a bead usually* at the time..
I will start the project, set aside and find the piece, or solution or what ever at a later date..
Nothing frustrates me more than not having a certain bead, or running out of something, in the middle of the project.. but it's also very good *and fun* to have started projects that.. when I have the bead, time, or whatever, then the project comes together that much faster.. and I'm not as frustrated..
*does that make sense?*
Sometimes too, when I have my kids' games (hockey, basketball, hockey, baseball, hockey, etc.) I can bring those "started projects and finish them up lickety~split..
And on the same token as doing those at those times, sometimes, I start a project,
at home because of what I would need to do that project and maybe dragging the stuff there isn't applicatable... and so much easy with the pieces for the finished project all done...

Anyhow, I lurk.. I have this set to email notifications when anyone posts on it..

And for Sarahjeanlyon's I get my inspirations allllllll over the place..
TV, Movies, catalogs, books, component books, kids' at school, colors, seasons',
look outside the "box" so to speak to get ideas...
And sometimes stocking up on goodies helps you when you do come acrossed an idea,
you might just have something on hand that's like it or similar to be able to do that project...

Weezie, did you get your bead stash sorted out? Were you inspired to work up a little something with something from your stash?

Actually, I did...

Not that day, but I finallllllllllly got ahold of some of it..
I had bought another big black n pink tote w/wheels thingie at J's..
(sorry ACshhh whistle )
And had boughten buy one get one free at J's awhile ago on those bead sorters..
and got out a few of the bags *from various stores* and loaded a few of them
in the containers..
Wiped out the 3 little carrier bags I carry for my a$$ortment of pliers, leather,
jump rings, beads, etc... and got my big carry all *black n pink* out, haven't dusted
that one off yet..

And I've made a bunch of necklaces *copying one that my mom had* and I'm held up
on a few minor details of each of them, but slowly figuring it out...

It's nice to be back doing my beading work.. (no pictures thoughd'oh )
*I had to stop for awhile, got carried away with all of my Cricut and Cuttlebug stuff*

Thanx for asking...

Sometimes I am like that... gosh, just don't know what to make..
but I sometimes trip over something *finally* and say, hey, I can make these, or that!

I like to get an a$$ortment of beads and kinda put them together, to see what goes
together, but then again, sometimes I like to throw them in a pile and see if anything
matches that I might not have matched or put together...
Sometimes that really helps cause my eye or head wouldn't have thought up the idea,
but by once I saw it, it popped!~

I love beads and beading! I personally can't always find the time to bead, but my collection keeps growing!

I recommend signing-up for Beading Daily's daily 'how to' e-mails. They include some great information: http://beadingdaily.com/
