A forum member e-mailed me recently to ask why certain words don't show up in posts. One example is the word "C-R-A-C-K" as in "you c-r-a-c-k me up."
We have a list of filtered words, and among the usual suspects you will find some that may not make sense. But if you take the word c-r-a-c-k for example it is a drug and that is why it is most likely on the list.
In addition to full words other words that are part of profanity may also disappear.
I myself feel for the person who had to sit and think up all the words on the list because it is quite long and frankly is a filthy read. But the powers that be had to do this to take precautions against those who would contaminate our little community with foul language.
As with any online experience there are ways around the filters and we could never filter every possible way that people could come up with to circumvent the system.
But that is why I am so thankful that the active members of our community are so faithful to point out things that they see that are not in keeping with the family atmosphere we have here.
